A modern logistics centre is being constructed in Zakroczym. The centre is to take the main load of servicing the Customers of Inter Cars SA. It shall be the most modern warehouse for distribution of automotive spare parts in Europe. The premises in total shall have 40,000 sq.m. of storage area. The warehouse will be realizing basic logistics tasks of ILS company, a subsidiary of Inter Cars SA., such as accepting goods from suppliers, order processing and delivering goods to the customers. The centre will be using methods which till now have only been used by American companies. Inter Cars, as the first company from automotive industry in Europe, shall be using two sorters of new type.

It is a sorter with cross belt construction. The goods are placed on wide square belts, which move in established trajectory. In a proper place, the belt directs the goods on it to the left or the right. Removing the goods from the belt is realized by turning the belt mechanically. The goods will be put on the sorter manually after being scanned.

The second sorter is a shoe sorter, which transporter is made of pressed aluminium profiles. The construction of the conveyor is closed, so no goods can fall or be stuck. Sliding elements of the sorter move gently along the profiles, changing the direction of goods which are moved towards the slide to the point of collection.

As Krzysztof Oleksowicz, Founder and Member of the Board of Inter Cars SA announced: We have been fast in preparing orders, but with this technology we shall be even faster. And what is also important, we will be able to eliminate mistakes, which right now still happen. The building shall be ready on the turn of July and August 2015. Finally the centre will start operating in the summer of 2016.
